Analysis of the Relationship Between Perceived Organizational Culture Types and Job Stress for General Hospital Employees in Korea

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between perceived organizational culture types and job stress for general hospital employees in Korea. The subjects of this study were 181 employees who had worked for over 6 months for any of the five general hospitals located in Jeon-buk Province. The collected data were statistically analyzed using SPSS 23.0 and Smart PLS 2.0 M3.
As a result, among the types of organizational cultures, clan culture has a statistically significant negative effect on interpersonal conflict, job insecurity, occupational system, lack of reward, and adhocracy culture has a statistically negative effect on insufficient job control. On the other hand, hierarchy culture showed a negative effect on lack of reward related stress, and a positive effect on job demand related stress. Market culture has no statistically significant relationship with job stress.
Based on the results of this study, clan culture and adhocracy culture were found to be protective factors reducing various factors of job stress. Therefore, hospital staff need to explore various ways to form and spread clan culture and adhocracy culture.
